Esther B. Brown, 76, of rural Cadott, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday evening, March 13, 2021, in the loving care of her family and St. Croix Hospice.
Esther Beverly Brown, daughter of Harvey and Iva (Buecus) Buttke was born at home in Cadott on Sept. 15, 1944. She was raised with her 8 siblings in the rural Cadott area and attended Sigel Country School. Esther was united in marriage on June 9, 1962, to Larry Brown at the Lutheran Church in Cadott, and together the couple with their children had lived in New Holstein, Lake Wissota, Thorp, Stanley and Cadott. This marriage was cut short when Larry passed away in 1986, and after that Esther took peace in knowing that her children and their families were always near by, as well as her extended family. Esther was a kind and gentle soul that loved her family and loved taking care of them. No one ever went hungry around her, as she was an excellent baker and cook that always shared. She also enjoyed all the children she baby sat for during the years she was raising her own children. She took pride in her flower gardens had a real fondness for the dogs she raised as well as her current lap companion Tigers her cat. Esther enjoyed the pleasure of going for rides with her family, that usually included her pets. Most of the time the rides ended with ice cream for all.
Esther will be dearly missed by her 3 daughters and son, Doris Moldrem (Randy Durham) of Wheeler; Douglas Brown, Diane Hanke, and Denise (James) Brown all of Cadott. She was the“Best Grandma” to 8 grandchildren of which 7 survive her, Joseph Moldrem, Megan (Cody) Phalen, Mackenzie (John), Tiffani Lentz (John), Qrystyna Hanke (Desire), Nicholas Brown (Sandra) and Jennifer Brown; and 10 great grandchildren. She is further survived by her sisters-in-law, Yvonne Buttke of Durand, Mary Buttke of Cadott, Gloria Buttke of Augusta, Loretta Weltzin of Hallie; and her cat Tigers. In addition to her husband; Esther was also preceded in death by her parents; grandson Mikkel Hanke; siblings, Dora Donnelly, Clarice Rodriguez, Violetta Robinson, Victor, LaVern, Floyd, Anton and Lyle Buttke; and special friend Arlyn Hays.
A visitation will be held Friday, March 19, 2021, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, with graveside services in Forest Hill Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.
