Richard E. Kuhn, 82, formerly of Augusta, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning April 20, 2021, at his home in rural Osseo. He was in the care of his family and St. Croix Hospice.
Richard Edward Kuhn was born on Jan. 20, 1939, in Bridge Creek Township, rural Augusta. He was the 5th of 6 children born to Oscar and Catherine (Zank) Kuhn. As a child he attended Trouble Waters Country School. He worked cutting pulpwood and driving cattle long distance before working taking a position with the Chicago Northwestern Railroad. He worked with the railroad 10 years before fracturing his back that force his retirement. When he was able he loved hunting, fishing and trapping. Dick was united in marriage to Joanne Denning in 1960 and to this union 4 children were born.
He is survived by his daughter Patti Yule of Osseo; daughter-in-law, Joanna (Dave) Oliver of Osseo; siblings, Carl Kuhn and Tom (Charlene) Kuhn all of Waukesha, Jean (Earl) Zimmerman of Osseo and Mary (Tom) Kamrath of Peculiar, Missouri; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Dick was preceded in death by his children, Mark in 2013, William in2010, and Nicole Kuhn in 1995; granddaughter Erica Jo Hemenway in 1994; father Oscar in 1982; mother Catherine in 1999; and sister Betty Warner.
Burial will be in the East Lawn Cemetery in Augusta.
