Steven Arias
Steven A. Arias, 59, of Augusta, passed away in hospice care and surrounded by his family on Saturday afternoon, April 2, 2022. 

Steven Allen Arias, son of Adam and Marie (Apodaca) Arias was born July 24, 1962, in Denver, Colorado. He was raised in Denver where he attended school and after high school he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country for 5 years. While in the service he worked as an ammunition specialist and had been station at Fort Sill in Oklahoma, at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama and also in Germany. After serving he returned to Colorado, where he met his soul mate Marlene (Zook) Bong in 1988, and to this union their daughter was born. In 1992 they moved to Augusta and on July 21, 2007, the couple were united in marriage at Cabin Ridge Rides in Cadott.  

While in Augusta he had worked at Bush Brothers Canning Company and before he retired due to ill health, he was working at Pro Poly. 
Steve was man with a wide array of interests. He was a talented woodworker and had built many treasured pieces for family and friends. He loved music, keeping journals, writing poetry, drawing, painting and cooking, just to mention a few. He also loved nature and especially fishing when he found the time. 

 He will be remember with a fantastic sense of humor and deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife Marlene; daughters, Chelsea (Justin) Purdon of Fall Creek, Sally (Don) Jones of Augusta; sons, Kane (Sara) Bong of Elizabeth, CO, Jamie (Kim) Bong of Augusta; 12 grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. He was also the loving son of Adam and Marie Arias of Denver, CO; and brother to Ken (Alex) Arias of Denver, Diana (Noel) Maberry of Daphne, AL, Teresa (Maryann) Rico and Lisa (Gary) Fifield all of Arvada, Colorado; also several nieces and nephews.  

Steve is now reunited with his infant son Adam John Arias who preceded him in death in (the year ?) .  

A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 6, 2022, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta. 

 A private funeral service will be held for family prior to the visitation.
