Robert Welch
Robert Edward Welch III, 56, of Blair, formerly of Kenosha, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022, at Gunderson Lutheran Medical Center in LaCrosse. Rob was comforted knowing that his loving wife and step daughter were by his side.

Rob was born in Highland Park in Lake County, Illinois, on Sept. 10, 1965, to Robert and Linda (Frank) Welch. He was raised in Illinois until moving with his mother and siblings to the Kenosha area, where he attended Trevor Grade School and Wilmot Union High School.

He lived most of his life in Kenosha area, where he worked as a parts puller for Jantz Salvage Yard, until a heart condition forced him into early retirement in 2018.

Rob met the love of his life, Cynthia Ruth Barhyte and the couple were united in marriage in Kenosha on Sep. 15, 2012. To be closed to Cynthia’s children the couple moved to Independence in June of 2020, and then to Blair in Aug. of 2021.

Over the years Rob had enjoyed taking part in demolition derbies. With his knowledge of mechanics and access to parts he usually did well, but more important was putting on a good show for the crowd. He liked the thrill of driving go karts with his family and also riding motorized bicycles and mini bikes. He also found pleasure sitting by the pond fishing or tending to his many cats throughout his life.

Rob will be dearly missed by his wife Cynthia; mother Linda Frank of Kenosha, sister, April (Jeff) Dooley of Conway, MO; 2 brothers, Timothy (Wanda) Welch and Kenneth Welch all of Kenosha; step daughter, Rebecka (Brandon) Schuman of Blair; 2 step sons, Ronald Lee (Alyssa) Kerska of Whitehall and Zachary Kerska of New Richmond; step grandchildren, Cory, Airiana and Bentley; Cynthia’s siblings, Gregg Barhyte of Fall Creek, Deborah (Dan) Peterson, Robin Lewallen (Myron Olson) all of Augusta, Dannette Barhyte of Osseo, Robert and David Barhyte both of Merrillan and Mike Barhyte (Marsha Schultz) of Augusta; several nieces and nephews.

Rob was preceded in death by his father and his paternal and maternal grandparents.

Services will be held Friday, May 6, 2022, at 12:20 p.m. at the Osseo Community Church with Pastor Larry Hoekstra officiating.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to noon at the church on Friday.
