Bruce Allan Ahrens, son of Albert and June (Jackson) Ahrens was born October 22, 1958, in Woodstock, Illinois. As a small child he moved with his family to Sheldon, Wisconsin, where he attended school and graduated from Flambeau High School in Tony.
Bruce was united in marriage to Carol Petska and to this union his son Dustin and daughter Amber were born. While he was married the couple farmed in Sheldon and after their divorce Bruce moved to Minnesota to be near his brother Wayne. Since then Bruce had remained in the Saint Cloud area where he worked for various farmers planting and harvesting their crops. In the fall he often traveled to Iowa to help friends with their rye harvest. It was while in Iowa that he suffered a medical event passing away on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at the age of 66 years and 11 days.
Bruce loved his work, spending time outside in the fields, but when not working his favorite pastime was spent on the back roads riding his motorcycle. He also enjoyed watching sporting events on television, especially NASCAR. His faith was an important part of his life and was baptized and confirmed both at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sheldon.
Bruce will be remembered as a kind and good hearted man with an infectious smile. If he ever saw anyone in need of help, he was right there to lend a helping hand. Bruce’s favorite saying was how he viewed life, “today we are going to be happy!”
In addition to his children that survive him; Bruce will be dearly missed by his brother Wayne Ahrens of West Bend; 4 sisters, Bev and Don Augustine of Marshfield, Terri Vojtasck of Ladysmith, Sue Nichols of Augusta and Mary Scharbrock of Ladysmith; nieces and nephews; and very special friends, Pam Zinn and Donald Gaede both of Augusta.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 16. 2024, at 11 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Augusta, WI, 814 Hudson St, with Pastor Jonathan Wessel officiating.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Sheldon.
Friends may call 1 hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
