Jaye Cole
Jaye Patricia Cole, daughter of Leo and Judith Marion and formerly of Augusta, passed away from a sudden heart related issue on Wednesday evening, May 22, 2024, at her home in Florissant, Missouri. She had reached the age of 64 years, 2 months and 14 days.
Jaye was born March 8, 1960, in Cook County, Illinois. In 1966 her family moved to Ludington Township of Eau Claire County and here she was raised with her four siblings. She attended Augusta Elementary School and graduated from Augusta High School in 1978.
Following her graduation she attended U.W. Eau Claire, where she received her degree in Elementary Education. She had also worked for a time at the Fall Creek Valley Nursing Home.
On Oct. 13, 1989, in Chicago, Jaye was united in marriage to Michael Cole. The couple lived all of their married life in Florissant, where she was employed by an insurance company in the book keeping department. Due to ill health Jaye was forced to take an early retirement.
At the age of 16, Jaye was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes which damaged her kidney and pancreas. She was fortunate to have been a 21 year survivor of a kidney/pancreas transport, well exceeding the medical community’s expectation. Her illness unfortunately also impaired her eye sight and for the past 16 years she was legally blind.
Jaye’s spirits were always uplifting, despite all the trials she had to endure.
Jaye is survived by her husband Mike of Florissant, MO;
sister, Jo (David) Oliver of Osseo; 2 brothers , Arthur (Ericka) Marion of Bettsville, OH and Henry (Maddy) Marion of Chippewa Falls, WI; several nieces and nephews.
Jaye was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Judith; brother Leo Michael Marion II; and brother-in-law Mark Kuhn.
