Marlene Mae Erickson, 81, of Ludington Township, rural Fall Creek, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Saturday morning, June 15, 2024, at Dove Healthcare-West in Eau Claire.
Marlene was reunited with her mother Millie, who at 103 passed away just 5 days earlier; Also joining her father Chester; husband Leroy Erickson Sr; son, Leroy Erickson Jr.; daughter, Chrissy Bertrang; gandson, Ryan Bertrand; and great-granddaughter, Anna Lee Peterson.
Marlene was born May 7, 1943, Eau Claire, WI, the daughter of Chester and Mildred (Swetlik) Legge. She was raised with her 2 sisters in Eau Claire where she graduated from Memorial High School in 1961.
Marlene was united in marriage to Leroy Erickson on Dec. 7, 1963, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. The couple lived in Eau Claire for nearly 3 years and then in 1966 they moved to their home in Ludington Township, rural Fall Creek, where they raised their 5 children. In addition to raising her family, Marlene had also worked at Dotronics and E. B. Brown both in Eau Claire. She also assisted her husband as bookkeeper and secretary at his Action T.V. Repair business on Water Street in Eau Claire.
Marlene was a very loving soul and cheerfully and without hesitation shared this love with everyone in her family and friends as well. When given the opportunity she spent as much time as she could outdoors, working in her lawn, her gardens and taking in nature. She was surrounded by a vast countryside that afforded her countless hours of watching all sorts of animals but especially the beautiful whitetail deer and many birds that visited her feeders and serenaded her daily.
Over the years Marlene and LeRoy ( Butch) enjoyed their many fishing and camping outings in Wisconsin.
Marlene will be deeply and dearly missed by her 3 daughters, Lori (Mike) McCune of Osseo, Cheri (Joe) Shaffer of Fairchild, Lynn (Jeff) Jaenke of Fall Creek; Her 2 sisters, Joan (Marvin) Johnson of Bloomer, Sue (Larry) Market of Townsend; grandchildren, James (Stacy) Bertrand, Christy Generali, Melinda (Alec) Peterson, Brittney (Chris) LeBarron, Brady ( Renae) Shaffer, Catherine Shaffer, Courtney (Bryant) Ayers, Sarah Shaffer, Connor Erickson, Kayla Bertrang, Kari Bertrang, Kendra Wierzba, Brandon Jaenke; great grandchildren, Ryan LeBarron, Aubrie Thompson, Everette Shaffer, Walker Lee Shaffer, Axton Ayers, Micheal Robinson, Madelyn Robinson, Myles Robinson, Isabella Peterson, Arriana Bertrand, Landon Bertrand, Caleb Bertrand, Mason Bertrand,Skylar Bertrand, Natalie Bertrand, Bryson Siegert, Olivia Thompson, Beckem Thompson and Asher Wierzba.
A Celebration of Life for Marlene will be held Sunday, June 23, 2024, from 11a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, with burial at a later time in Ludington Cemetery.
