Dolores M. Iverson, 91, of Fairchild, passed away early Tuesday afternoon Sept. 24, 2024, at her son’s home in Fairchild, where she was in the care of her family and Mayo Home Hospice.
Dolores was born October 25, 1932, the daughter of Torrolf and Geneva (Dahl) Thompson. She was raised with her sisters on a farm in Hale Township of Trempealeau County, rural Osseo, WI. She attended country school and graduated from Lincoln Hills High School in Osseo.
On February 17, 1951, Dolores was united in marriage to Richard “Dick” Iverson in Strum. After Dick was honorably discharges from the Army the couple settled in Waukesha, WI, and it was here that they raised their 3 sons. While in Waukesha the couple owned and operated a Standard Oil station before establishing a recreational camping center business that Dolores was the office manager for.
Due to her husband’s health the couple retired and moved to Foster in 1978 and then to Fairchild in 1982, where they owned and operated the Barrel Inn Tavern.
After Dick passed away in 2006, Dolores eventually moved to 2 different apartments in Fairchild. When her health deteriorated early this year she moved into her son Randy and Carol’s home where she was surrounded by love, well cared for and enjoyed the visits from other family members as well as her friends.
Dolores will be dearly missed by her 2 sons, Richard Iverson of Sparta, Randy and Carol Iverson of Fairchild; 3 grandchildren, Megan, Anthony and Eric; 5 great grandsons, Dax, Kaidum, Miken, Blaine, and Wyatt: 2 sisters, Helen Lyga of Pigeon Falls and Ferne (Ronald) Syverson of Janesville.
In addition to her husband, Dolores was also preceded in death by her son Ronald on May 2, 2016; daughter-in-law Georgene in 2017; and brother-in-law Aloizie Lyga.
A Celebration of Life for Dolores will be held Sunday, October 27, 2024, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Randy and Carol Iverson home at 610 Camp Road in Fairchild. A graveside service for the family will be held in the Norden Lutheran Church Cemetery in rural Eleva.
