Tom Kildahl
Thomas Michael Kildahl, 77, passed peacefully on June 27, 2024, at the Chippewa Falls Veterans Home after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Tom was born in Eau Claire, WI on April 7, 1947, to Frederick and Miriam (Gallagher) Kildahl.

Tom attended Memorial High School, and following his graduation in 1965 he enlisted in the Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. During his tour, he was severely wounded in action, resulting in his being awarded the Purple Heart. While recovering, he was stationed at the Pentagon in Washington D. C., where he met his wife, Carolyn.

Tom and Carolyn married on July 26, 1969, in Ottumwa, IA. They started their life together at their first home in Chippewa Falls, before moving to their farm in Augusta. They raised two sons, Josh and Cory.

Tom was an active community member, active with both the United Methodist Church and the Augusta Lions Club in his younger years. He was also the leader and mentor of the Boy Scouts.

Tom was the respected patriarch of the Kildahl family. He was the glue that kept his children and grandchildren together. He was selfless, helping anyone in need. He was a man of great intelligence and hard work, but he truly enjoyed the little things in life and made the most of every day.

Tom was preceded in death by his dear wife, Carolyn, as well as his parents and his brother, Howard Kildahl.

He is survived by his two sons Cory (Gina) and Josh (Ashley); grandchildren Bethany (Aaron), Dylan, Cole, and Sterling, and Kylee (Matt), Ethan, Kasiea, Hunter, and Amarianna; great-grandchildren Jace, Hazel, Cora, and Oscar.
Service will be announced when set.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Augusta.

Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
