Patricia Ann Moschkau, daughter of Alfred and Esther (Olson) Knuth, was born Nov. 27, 1943, in Fairchild. She was raised in Fairchild where she attended elementary school and graduated from high school. While in Fairchild she had worked at the Sunset Nursing Home and the Rustic Inn Restaurant.
Pat was united in marriage to Gary Moschkau on Aug. 14, 1971, at Lake Street Methodist Church in Eau Claire. The couple lived all their married life in Eau Claire County and before moving to Whitehall in September of 2022, they had lived 15 years in the Foster area.
Pat had been employed at Gordy’s I.G. A. in Eau Claire and for many years as a C.N.A. at the Severson Nursing Home in downtown Eau Claire.
Over the years with both her and Gary’s large family, she looked forward to all the family gatherings. In the kitchen she was an excellent cook and baker and outside she loved her time spent in her vegetable and flower gardens. For relaxation you could often find her working on a needle point project or watching her favorite game shows on television.
For the past several months Pat had been in ill health that required hospitalization. It was at Gunderson Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse that she passed away late Sunday afternoon, March 10, 2024, with her family by her side. She had reached the age of 80 years, 3 months and 12 days.
Pat will be dearly missed by Gary, her companion of 52 years; daughter Tammy (Gary) Baxter of Eau Claire; son Jeff Knuth of Hixton; 5 grandchildren, Zachary (Stacey) Baxter, Corisa (Josh) Flynn, Thomas Knuth, Cody Knuth, Emmi (Sawyer) Strzok; 3 great grandchildren, Hollynn Strzok, Nova and Kamree Knuth; 3 step grandsons, Matthew (Dorothy) Baxter, Andrew (Bridgett) Baxter, David (Brenda) Baxter and their families; sister-in-law Kathleen Knuth of Eau Claire; Gary’s siblings and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pat was preceded in death by her mother Esther on April 15, 1971; father Alfred on July 12, 1994; great grandson Karl Knuth; and siblings, Donald, Ralph and Henry “Hank” Knuth, Dorothy Johnson and Beverly Gorkowski.
