Marilyn Noggle
Marilyn J. Noggle, daughter of Donald and Donna (Peterson) Edwards was born October 23, 1956, in Milwaukee, WI. She was raised in Milwaukee where she attended grade school and graduated from Washington High School in 1974. While in high school and after graduation she worked at the Sage Nursing Home.

Marilyn was united in marriage to Richard Noggle on May 13, 1978, and to this union their daughter and son were born. Marilyn remained in Milwaukee until 1993 when she moved to Fairchild to be closer to her mother and other family members. While in Fairchild she was employed as a CNA at the Fairchild Nursing Home before taking a position with the Augusta Area Nursing Home. Unfortunately, due to back related problems she was forced to retire from the job she dearly loved.

Marilyn was put on this earth to take care of others. As the oldest of 8 children she definitely took on the role as “mother hen” with her siblings. With her own children it was important to her that they knew their grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins and visited them as often as they could. Even with her many health problems she was the glue that kept the family together. Through her acts of kindness and generosity she was a wonderful role model, as she always went out of her way to help others. She had a very forgiving nature, quick to show mercy and rarely showed much if any anger.

If you knew Marilyn you knew how much she enjoyed listening to music, especially “soul music.” She loved to dance, collect clocks, shop and above all spend time with her large extended family. She was a wonderful cook and carried on the family recipes such as the cooked shells and delicious coleslaw, but one of her favorite things to eat was Tugger’s chili. For 31 years she was fortunate to have shared her life with Danny Gorkowski of Fairchild and together they spoiled his cat Pepper and her cat Tommy. In addition to spending time with Danny she also looked forward to the time spent with his family.

For several years Marilyn had been in ill health that required assisted and nursing home care. She had recently moved back to Fairchild where she passed away at Danny’s home on Monday evening, April 1, 2024, having reached the age of 67 years, 5 months and 8 days.

Marilyn will be dearly missed by her children and 6 grandchildren, daughter, Michele (Matt) Horton and family Nicholas Davidson and Kaylee Horton of Sparta; son Richie Jr. (Tonya) Noggle and family, Michael, Anna, Madison, and Gavin of Tomah; great grandson, Reese; long time companion Danny Gorkowski of Fairchild; 4 sisters, Debbie Hagen of Augusta, Denice Edwards (Brian Hooker) of Augusta, Sheila (Jerome) LePage of Withee, Leann (Mitch) Balliett of Augusta; brother Rodney Street (Staci Edwards) of Fairchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her father Donald in 2005; mother Donna Edwards Behlke in 2016; brother Jerry in 2000; sister Cindy in 2022; and brother-in-law Dave Hagen in 2018.
A private burial with graveside services, as requested by Marilyn will be held at a later date in the West Lawn Cemetery in Augusta.
