Leila Denning
Leila Irene Denning, age 81, of Eau Claire went home to be with her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, March 27th. She was born on February 10th, 1931 in Chippewa Falls, the daughter of Frank & Jessie Phillips. At a young age, Leila lived in Minneapolis, later moving back to Cornell where she attended school. While in Minneapolis, she had many exciting experiences meeting famous people such as, Mae West, Jackie Cooper and the Andrews Sisters.

Leila was united in marriage to Lloyd Denning, Sr. on November 4th, 1946. Three children were born of that union, Sheila, Kathleen and Lloyd Jr. Over the years she held many interesting positions as a caregiver, business owner, cook, waitress and homemaker. Her family will most remember her love for Jesus and the sharing of her faith with others. Everyone was a “friend, even if she only met them once. She had a love of baking, playing cards, thrift shopping and spending time with family.
Leila was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Sr., her parents Frank and Jessie, two brothers-in-law Gerald and Merle Denning, sister-in-law Eileen Denning, and several nieces and nephews.

Her memory and legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of her three children, Sheila (Gary) Walsh of River Falls, Katie (Frankie) Pape of Augusta and Lloyd Jr. (Deb) Denning of Eau Claire. Seven grandchildren, Lori (Joe) Bechtel, Angel (Shannon) Zimmerman, Wendy (Ed) Johnson, Nate (Katie) Walsh, Darin Walsh, Heather (Joel) Kaeding, Mandy (Jayme) LeMere and Jake (Kelli) Denning.
