Jerry H. Johnson, 62, of Foster, passed away at home in his sleep on Sunday, April 29, 2012.Â
Jerry Howard Johnson, son of LaVern “Texâ€? and Margaret (Krueger) Johnson was born Aug. 17, 1949 in Eau Claire. He was baptized at Osseo Evangelical Lutheran Church and confirmed at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Foster. He was raised in the Foster area where he attended Hales Corner Country School, Foster Grade School and graduated from Osseo High School in 1967. He was united in marriage to Debra Compeau on April 15, 1972 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Foster. Jerry farmed with his parents before taking a job building homes with Pabisch Homes of Eau Claire. He later drove refrigerated trucks for Family Farms of Eleva, before owning and operating a bulk milk truck route, hauling for Falls Dairy and AMPI. For the past 20 plus years he drove dump truck for Allied Black Top of Eau Claire and was still driving for the present River City Transport. Over the years Jerry had enjoyed softball, bowling, fishing and hunting. He especially enjoyed riding snowmobile and his involvement with the Bracketteers Snowmobile Club. He was very partial to John Deere products, whether it was for work or play. Jerry was definitely the man to find if you needed a great dancing partner or something delicious off the grill. Â
He will be dearly missed by his son, Jamie “Skwirlâ€? Johnson of Foster; daughter, Kimberly (Dave) Sessions of Eau Claire; step-grandson, Blake Sessions; former wife and friend, Debra Johnson of Osseo; 5 sisters, Lois Johnson of Eau Claire Janice Fuller of Madison, Peggy (Wayne) Reetz of Foster, Ann (Earl) Henley of Boise, Idaho, Marcia (Mike) Monical of McKinney, Texas; brother, Mickey (Cecilia) Johnson of Hurricane, Utah; mother-in-law, Deloris Compeau of Foster; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, LaVern and Margaret Johnson and father-in-law, Wabe Compeau. Â
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, with burial in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Cemetery in Foster. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday and one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.Â
In lieu of flowers memorial can be given to the Bracketteers Snowmobile Club. Â
