Wilbur H. Klick, 95, formerly of Osseo and Eau Claire, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012 at the Augusta Area Nursing Home, with his loving family at his side.
Wilbur Henry Klick was born April 21, 1917 in Osseo, WI, the son of Wilbur and Rose (Reamer) Klick. He was raised in Osseo where he graduated from Lincoln High School in 1935. Wilbur served nearly 5 years as a mechanic technician in the U.S. Army during W.W. II. While in the service he was united in marriage to Bernice Berg on Oct. 6, 1943. After his honorable discharge the couple made their home in Eau Claire, where he worked as a mechanic and service manager for Bark River Culvert and Equipment Company. Bernice passed away in 1972, and he later married Irma (Nimsger) Berlin on Jan. 6, 1973.
After he retired in 1979, Wilbur and Irma moved to Osseo, where they were members of the Osseo Evangelical Lutheran Church. He entered the nursing home in Augusta in Oct. of 2011. Wilbur loved music and for many years played the accordion and piano with the Klick Trio. Throughout the years the trio and at times with other musicians, played for wedding dances, parties and at nursing homes. He spent enjoyable hours watching movies that pertained to trains and reminiscing about his time spent in the army. He was a member of the Osseo American Legion.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Irma a resident of the Augusta Area Nursing Home; 6 stepchildren, Cecil Berlin of Eau Claire, Joe (Pearl) Berlin of Brackett, Carol (Jake) Toma of Hayward, Corrine Bethke of Rosemount, MN, Judy Klick of New Brighton, MN, Pat Ristau of Osseo; brother, Ronald Klick of Beloit, 3 sisters, Virginia Henning and Donna Johnson both of Eau Claire, Esther Yarrington of Strum; 16 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 10 siblings, Teddy Klick as an infant, Gerald, Clifford, Arnie, Robert and Dale Klick, Sam Nelson, Mabel Brixen, Elsie Odenbreit and Angie Brunner.
Funeral services with military rites will be held Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Osseo Evangelical Lutheran Church in Osseo, with Pastor Lewis Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in Eau Claire. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at the church. The family is assisted by the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta.
