Cora A. Luedtke Nelson, was born June 5, 1935, in Lafayette Township, Chippewa County, the daughter of Alfred and Gertrude (Pierce) LaRose. She was raised in Chippewa County, where she attended country school. On October 17, 1953, she was united in marriage to Arlo Ralph Luedtke. Cora and Arlo raised their 9 children in Ludington Township, rural Augusta. In addition to raising her family, she had also worked for a time at Bush Brothers Canning Company in Augusta, at Elsie’s Café in Fall Creek and for Huntsinger Farms in Eau Claire. Cora loved spending time with her large family and especially all of her grand and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed watching and feeding the birds, working in her flower gardens and camping and sitting around the campfires with her family. Due to ill health she entered the Augusta Area Nursing Home in September of 2007. It was at the home that she passed away early Thursday morning, June 14, 2012, having reached the age of 77 years and 9 days.
She will be deeply missed by her 7 sons, Jack and Sharmay of Ellison Bay, WI, Arlo and Ary, Dennis and Karen, Daniel and Diane all of Augusta, Vern and Wendy of Fall Creek, Pat and Sandy of Osakis, MN, Warren of Greenwood; daughter, Eileen and Henry Lane of Cadott; 14 grandchildren, Adam, Amber, April, Lacey, Tracy, Tom, Kami, Jesse, Maria, John, Trevor, Kayla, Brett and Josh; 21 great grandchildren, Tessa, Nolan, Austin, Everett, Nathan, Riley, Brennen, Mason, Chase, Landyn, Maci, Arin, Jamie, Paulie, Raleigh, Dalany, Jorgi, Royce, Ivy, Amari and Isla; 5 siblings Ethel Martinson of Fall Creek, Herbert (Lillian) LaRose of Cadott, Betty LaRose of Galesburg, IL, Pearl Crowley and John Jacobson both of Chippewa Falls; several nieces, nephews, their family and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arlo on Feb. 26, 1975, son, John Luedtke on April 8, 2010, and brothers, Herman and Jimmy LaRose.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, with Pastor Cal Siegel officiating. Burial will be in the Ludington Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the funeral home.
