Alice Raether
Alice Lorraine Raether, daughter of Bernard and Dorothy (Bellinger) Raether, was born Jan. 3, 1939 in Eau Claire. She was raised in Ludington Township, rural Augusta, where she attended Oak Ridge and White Country School and graduated from Augusta High School in 1956.  

She was united in marriage to Alwin Foldy at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ludington, and to this union 2 children were born. She lived in Ludington Township until moving to Eau Claire in 1985. She had worked at the Augusta Area Times and while in Eau Claire, she was employed at Copps Foods and before retiring 4 years ago she had worked several years at the Goodwill Store. Alice enjoyed the time she had spent working with ceramics and artex paints. She looked forwad to playing cards, especially with her Thursday night card group, attending thrift sales and reading, but most importantly the time spent with family and friends. 
Alice suffered a massive heart attack at her home on Monday and was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, where she passed away later that evening, Sept. 10, 2012. She had reached the age of 73 years, 8 months and 7 days.  


She will be deeply missed by her son, Russ and Tamee Foldy of Cadott; daughter, Kristalynn Glenz of Altoona; 3 grandchildren, Jesse Glenz, Ethan and Aubree Foldy; 2 brothers, Bernard ( Joyce) Raether of Carmi, Il,, Rodney( Shirley) Raether of Ventura, CA; 2 sisters, Barbara Raether, Ione (John Sr. ) Lone all of Augusta; very special friend, Ray Ehlert of Eau Claire; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Bernard on June 24, 1980, her mother, Dorothy on Nov. 15, 2003, and nephew, Ronald Lone.
