Novella Stephan
Novella I. Stephan, 78, of rural Fall Creek, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012 at her home.

Novella Irene Stephan, daughter of Cecil and Ida (Arneson) Anderson was born Feb. 24, 1934 in Bentley, North Dakota. She was raised and attended school in Lemmon, South Dakota, and it was there that she was united in marriage to James Stephan on Feb. 24, 1959. The couple lived in Thunder Hawk near Lemmon, before moving to Wisconsin and Chicago. Since the mid 1960’s they had lived in Seymour Township, rural Fall Creek. For 35 years Novella had been employed by the Fall Creek Valley Nursing Home as a dietary aid, she retired in June of 2011. Novella looked forward to her yearly trips to the Dakotas to visit her family and also enjoyed spending time at home with her children and their families.  

She will be deeply missed by James, her husband of nearly 54 years; daughter, Nancy (Jeff) McCann of Fall Creek; 2 sons, James and Jennifer Stephan of Fall Creek, Richard and Kathryn Stephan of Eau Claire; brother, Donald Anderson of Lemmon, S.D.; sister, Martha (Alden) Miller of Morristown, S.D; 10 grandchildren, Becky (Nate) England, Timothy (Amanda) Stephan, Christopher (Sarah) Stephan, Julia (Tyler) Paur, Aaron Stephan, Sara Stephan, Gavin (Melissa) McCann, Cory, Travis and Mikayla McCann; 3 great grandchildren, Brendon Stephan, Elijah England, Ayden Bluem and a great grandson due to be born in March. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Alex McCann, siblings, Janice Weidmer, Lyle, Virgil and Albert Anderson. 
 
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 19, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Seymour Township with Pastor Cal Siegel officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
