Vaughn Lierman
Vaughn William Lierman, 84, formerly of rural Fall Creek, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2026, in hospice care at Cambridge Senior Living in Eau Claire.

Vaughn was born in Menomonie on October 21, 1941, the son of Milton and Alpha (Blicher) Lierman. He was raised in the Menomonie area, where he attended rural country school and Menomonie High School. It was also in Menomonie that Vaughn met and later married Lucille Ponto on January 13, 1961. They initially farmed in Dunn County and in 1974, they moved to their farm west of Fall Creek, where they built a 50-year life together, tending the land and raising a family.

After retiring from milking cows, he transitioned to beef and crop farming while running his own farm equipment repair service, affectionately known as Vaughn’s “Papa Smurf's” Fix-on-Site Farm Machinery Repair Business. He loved the work so much that he kept at it well into his 80s.
An avid sport shooter and reloader, Vaughn spent countless hours at the bench and always looked forward to the annual deer hunt with family and friends. A true Wisconsinite at heart, he never turned down a good fish fry and deeply enjoyed local church and lutefisk dinners.

Vaughn will be deeply missed by his 3 sons, Randy (JoAnn) Lierman of Lakewood, Kevin (Sandra) Lierman, Bryn Lierman (Natalie Ramsdell) all of Eau Claire; 6 beloved grandchildren, Jeffery (Chelsea) Lierman, Alicia (Justin) Waschbisch, Eric (Amanda) Lierman, Jason (Melissa) Lierman, Andrew (Lauren) Lierman and Cheyenne Lierman; and 12 cherished great grandchildren; in-laws, David Knaack and Rayola Lierman both of Eau Claire, Patricia Kutney of Brooklyn Park, MN.

Vaughn was preceded in death by his parents; wife Lucille on Sept. 7, 2024; and 3 siblings, Marilyn Lierman, JoAnne Knaack and Richard Lierman.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fall Creek, with Pastor Brendan Harris officiating.

A visitation will be held 2 hours prior to services beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday at the church.

Burial will follow at 4:00 p.m. in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Menomonie.

The family is assisted by Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta.
